Feature & Follow #29: Physical Books or e-Books?

Feature & Follow button

Feature & Follow is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read where each host will have their own Feature blog to show off more new blogs!

Such a difficult question! I love my Kindle because it was the whole reason I got back into reading about three years ago. It's easy to use and light to carry around. Just so convenient I never go anywhere without it! I also really love hardcover books. They're so pretty and there's just something so magical about holding a physical copy in your hands. I really couldn't decide so I asked Ripple to help me choose.

Thinking Ripple
He's debating which one to
pick for me.

Ripple can't decide
Now he's sniffing because
he can't decide either.
Oops, I guess we love both ;)

Do you like physical books or ebooks and thank you for coming by!

  1. I do love my kindle and prefer reading on it over anything else but I agree that once in a while, there is just something nice about having a physical copy to hold (and smell!) as well. :)

    Have a great weekend Eileen!

    1. I became addicted to buying physical copies because of the sales I see around but I definitely love my Kindle :)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!!

  2. Hey Eileen, great question. I Have to have an e-reader because I review for a magazine and most of my galleys are the e-variety but wowza, what I really love is the feel of paper :)

    1. Agreed! Reviewing is very convenient with an e-reader but the feeling of flipping pages can't be beat ;)

  3. I know how you feel! I felt torn when I read the question too! I do love the fact that when I travel, I can bring all my books with me at the same time. Nothing's worse then packing for a trip, and deciding which books to bring.

    1. Yes! With e-readers we get to bring all our books and there's practically no weight!!

  4. Haha! I love that you have Ripple decide for you! I'd probably say physical books. I just recently got more into e-books but I read so much faster with physical books. Plus I like being able to flip back and forth or reread sections easier. Tough question though!

    1. Heehee he turned out to be no help at all though! That is a great point! Physical books you can flip back so easily but with ebooks, if you didn't mark the place, it's extremely hard to go back and find!

  5. Aww!! Ripple is just adorable!! He's so cute and looks so sweet! I'm use to our evil spawn at our house. She's evil! Though since she was a rescued pet, I'm thinking she had a horrible owner previously. She has her moments where she can be sweet, but then she'll let you know when she's done letting you pet her...as if the blood on your finger wasn't enough! LOL!

Anywho...I like both as well, but I have a preference and love for the real book!

    Here's my Follow Friday

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. Lol the fear for your fingers is real! Aww she's lucky to have found a great home!

I knew you'd say physical books! I can tell from the pictures you post lol :P

  6. I love having print books, because they are so pretty. But I prefer reading ebooks. It's just easier for me since I read at night and I don't like dealing with book lights.

    1. So true! I'm always adjusting my bedside lamp to get the light to shine on my book. My mom always tells me that's no good lol.....

  7. Yes, yes, this to all of pretty much EVERYTHING that you have said! I feel the same way, but I also love being able to be a little more experimental in my reading and taking chances on new-to-me author's and books with my Kindle. :)

Happy Reading and Hopping Through! :)

    1. I'm always more hesitant about trying new authors. I'd need to look up the book on GR first. But ebooks have led me to a lot of great authors :D

  8. I've always been a fan of hard copies but I do like the convenience of ebooks! Also, your cat is absolutely adorable!!

  9. Ripple is such a cutie patootie. I am torn between ebooks and physical books too. While I do love physical copies (it's magical, like you said), I really wouldn't be able to get much of rereading done if it wasn't for he convenience of ebooks, since I mostly read at night.

And I seriously have a thing against people who don't like people who read ebooks and call them the "non-readers" like wow, no, don't. D:

    1. What?!? I've never heard that before but that's so inaccurate! The content is exactly the same, we just choose a different method on how to read them. We'll just ignore these people and walk on by!

  10. Can I steal your cat? Sweet thanks xD Anyways, I think I hold a preference over hard copies more. I just love petting them, okay?

  11. Well, like you and Ripple... I cannot choose! I adore my Kindle because I can carry hundreds of books in there and it's so convenient to travel and to get a book you're super excited to download right at midnight on release day! Even more for me that I have to order all my books online.

But physical books, there's something about holding a physical book and having them in your shelves that I absolutely adore! Hugging a book is different from hugging your Kindle, you know? ;)

So yeah, I cannot choose either!

    1. I definitely hear ya!! Downloading at midnight is super awesome but kindles are not very huggable for sure. Books, on the other hand, are the best~
