Goodreads Summary:
You can follow the rules or you can follow your heart...THE MOMENT OF LETTING GO

Sienna Murphy never does anything without a plan. And so far her plans have been working. Right after college, she got a prestigious job and gained the stability she'd always craved-until work takes her to the sun-drenched shores of Oahu and places her in the path of sexy surfer Luke Everett. For the first time, she lets her heart take control. Drawn to his carefree charm, she makes a spontaneous and very un-Sienna-like decision to drop everything and stay in Hawaii for two more weeks.

Luke lives fast and wild. When he meets Sienna, he's convinced that some no-strings-attached fun is just what she needs. As their nights quickly turn from playful to passionate, Luke can't deny the deep connection he feels. But there's a reason Luke doesn't do long-term. He can't promise Sienna forever, when the enormity of his past has shown him just how fragile the future can be . . .

Review

This review was really hard for me to write because I never ever DNF a book. With The Moment of Letting Go though I just found myself picking it up and putting it down many times - a lot more times than I have with any other book. Eventually I decided to just not pick it back up at all.

I managed to read about 130 pages before giving up. I felt a complete lack of interest in the story. Sienna is a workaholic. She's a hardworking person but I didn't find myself really caring about her. Luke, the surfer she's attracted to was your typical pretty face with a troubled past. I didn't particularly care for him either. Generally speaking, I was just bored with where the story was going. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not at that point in the story yet but nothing stood out to me. Or maybe I just wasn't in the mood for NA. I'm really sad I couldn't get into the story  :(

Since I didn't finish The Moment of Letting Go, I won't give it a rating. I'm certain one day I'll pick it up again. Maybe then I'll be able to connect to the characters and feel the story more than I can right now.

*I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinion are my own and not affected in any way.

  4. Aww I was really looking forward to this book. I've read The Edge of Never by J.A.Redmerski and I loved it. It's good to know that you weren't a fan though. It will keep my expectations low when I eventually read it so I don't get too disappointed if I don't like it.

  5. DNFing a book is so hard sometimes, right?? I DNFed Legacy of Kings and I feel like the black sheep, but I just couldn't put myself to get through the rest of the book after I stopped at 43%...

    1. Awww you're not the only one I've heard not loving it so don't worry! I'm really curious to see what I'll be like :)

DNF makes me really sad but I'm slowly learning to just let it go if it really isn't working out.
