Goodreads Summary:
Kim Hani, the once-terrible gumiho known as the Scarlet Fox, spends her days working at a café and trying not to let a certain customer irk her. Seokga, a trickster god thrown from the heavens for his attempt at a coup, spends his days hunting demons and irking a particular gumiho. When a demon of darkness escapes the underworld, and the Scarlet Fox emerges from hiding before quickly vanishing, Seokga is offered a chance at redemption: kill them both, and his sins will be forgiven. But Hani is prepared to do anything to prevent Seokga from bringing her to justice, even trick her way into his investigation.

Review

Banter, romance and the supernatural made The God and the Gumiho such a fun read! When I thought there could be no perfect ending, Ms. Sophie Kim gives it to us. I need the next book asap.

What I Liked:
- easy-to-read writing
- a very curious world
- Seokga's prickliness was actually quite endearing
bubbly and vicious Hani
Seokga and Hani made quite the pair
- Hani’s hilarious quips at Seokga to rile him up
- feelings heated up fast yet were very believable
- Seokga's unwillingness to show he cares (but he does)
- Hani having Somi's best interest at heart
- clever misdirection
- learning (and recognizing some of) the Korean creatures
- a shocking but full circle moment ending

The Not So Much:
- the Korean names for the creatures got a bit confusing
- I guessed the villain pretty early on

"All my life, I have been selfish. I want my ending to be selfless." (p. 376)
