Goodreads Summary:
“Your land is not the one you take, it is the one you die for.”

Still reeling over her discovery of a staggering secret about her closest ally, Keera has no time to rest. She and her fellow rebels plan a desperate rescue mission after King Damien takes one of their own hostage. Opening the kingdom’s magical seals has transformed Keera in ways even the wisest Fae elders could not have anticipated. With the kingdom’s Halfling population suddenly posing a risk to the crown, the land is plunged into violence as the king begins a new blood purge. Keera and her allies gather an army to meet Damien’s forces in a final confrontation of epic, and tragic, proportions.

The epic final installment in the Halfling Saga will thrill fans of Melissa Blair’s lush, action-packed, romantasy series.

Review

An Honored Vow wrapped up The Halfing Saga with no less amount of trauma, action and surprises than its predecessors. I was praying hard for the survival of our emotionally wrung out characters.

From beautiful ballgowns to ambitious abduction to risky rescues, An Honored Vow was full of daring stunts. It was nerve-wracking but so satisfying to watch things unfold. The wildness of the battles had my blood pumping. The casualty count was one too many but their sacrifices made all the difference.

An Honored Vow delivered an eye-opening development: Keera’s new power. What a boon for the rebellion- a new kind of Fae who wield never before seen magical abilities. However, because of their completely unknown nature, the intense debate was warranted. I was glad to see Keera’s cautions and concerns being taken seriously. It worked out fairly in the end.

I was quite disappointed with the part Riven played in An Honored Vow. He was nothing like the strong and confident leader he was in A Broken Blade. His devotion to Keera was still present but his personality died a fiery death. I almost regret ever liking him…

An Honored Vow is a grand finish for The Halfing Saga. Melissa Blair sure put us on one hell of an emotional rollercoaster ride. These battle-worn characters deserved to finally have/be at peace.
