Goodreads Summary:
Modern-day sisters discover deadly ancient magic in book 1 of this Falling Kingdoms spin-off series!
Worlds collide in this suspenseful, page-turning Falling Kingdoms spin-off series, which explores a whole new side of Mytica—and an even darker version of its magic.
Crystal Hatcher, Modern-day Toronto: It’s a normal afternoon in her mother’s antique bookshop when Crys witnesses the unthinkable: her little sister Becca collapses into a coma after becoming mesmerized by a mysterious book written in an unrecognizable language.
Maddox Corso, Ancient Mytica: Maddox Corso doesn’t think much of it when he spots an unfamiliar girl in his small village. Until, that is, he realizes that she is a spirit, and he is the only one who can see or hear her. Her name is Becca Hatcher, and she needs Maddox to help get her home.
Farrell Grayson, Modern-day Toronto: Rich and aimless Farrell Grayson is thrilled when the mysterious leader of the ultra-secret Hawkspear Society invites him into the fold. But when he learns exactly what he has to do to prove himself, Farrell starts to question everything he thought he knew about family, loyalty, and himself….
Fate has brought these young people together, but ancient magic threatens to rip them apart.

This just sounds so epic and amazing! Guess I better start reading the Falling Kingdoms series eh? ;)
What are you guys waiting on this week?
I need to start reading the Falling Kingdoms series, too. I have the first one...somewhere. I wonder if A Book of Spirits and Thieves can be read and understood if you haven't read the original series? It sounds awesome. Great pick!

I'm wondering about that too. Maybe the world will just be more familiar if you've read the FK series?
DeleteIt sounds good! You don't have to wait for long too. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMy Wow
I know right?! Thanks :)
DeleteI have yet to try this author but this does look like it will be a good one.
ReplyDeleteMe too haha but I definitely will be reading the FK series soon! Hope you will too ;)
DeleteYESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! I cannot wait to read this one! I want to say you could read this without having read Falling Kingdoms. It's a spinoff series, which in theory, or at least usually, that means you can enjoy this one without reading the first one. But if you've read the first series you'll understand this and that a bit more. That's my thinking anyways! Come on June 23!
ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
That's exactly what I think too! Hope you'll love this Jessica :D
DeleteI just finished an ARC and have a non-spoiler review on my blog. I never read The Falling Kingdom yet really enjoyed this book a lot. I think there might be a few things I might pick up on more had I read the other series first, but it certainly didn't retract from my liking this book.
ReplyDeleteThat is good news! Thanks so much for sharing it Barb~
DeleteGreat pick! I really need to start reading Morgan Rhodes's series because it sounds amazing.

You and me both haha! I really want to start but waiting for a few more books (I think it's a six book series) to come out cause I'm not good with waiting ;)
DeleteI didn't realize this was the start of a spin-off series!! That makes me so much more excited for it. I recently read Falling Kingdoms. I didn't love it, but it's a decent book. The world is interesting. :)
ReplyDeleteYes! it's so exciting and I really should read FK soon ;)
