Review
What to say about Twisted Fate... I think I'm a little burnt out over paranormal stories so I wasn't able to enjoy this one as much as I wanted to. Everything about the story felt formulaic.
I want to say I enjoyed the school setting, the forbidden romance and tension-filled situations but they felt so standard. Nothing that happened surprised me. There was barely a climax and very little character growths. More importantly I never felt a need to know what's next. For a supernatural story, nothing was super about it.
I liked Aurora and Tristan's banter at first. Then the more I read the more bored I felt with (the progression of) their relationship. I can see why Aurora falls for Tristan but I don't understand what he saw in her. There's no transparency in his feelings for her besides the nicknames he starts calling her by (so cheesy btw). For that reason I couldn't believe in their coupling. Even their intimacy felt abrupt.
Sadly I don't think I'll be continuing with the series. I really wish Twisted Fate was more engaging but in the end it just did not wow me. I'd say give it a try if you're new to the paranormal new adult world otherwise pass on it.
