Goodreads Summary:
Mia and Jake have known each other their whole lives. They’ve endured summer vacations, Sunday brunches, even dentist visits together. Their mothers, who are best friends, are convinced that Mia and Jake would be the perfect couple, even though they can’t stand to be in the same room together.

After Mia’s mom turns away yet another cute boy, Mia and Jake decide they’ve have had enough. Together, they hatch a plan to get their moms off their backs. Permanently. All they have to do is pretend to date and then stage the worst breakup of all time—and then they’ll be free.

The only problem is, maybe Jake and Mia don’t hate each other as much as they once thought...

Review

Fake It Till You Break It was a really cute read that I breezed through in one sitting. The story flowed well and was exactly what I was looking for~

The book features the hate-to-love and faking dating tropes. The author did a great job employing these two tropes to create the story. Nothing was too cliché or over the top. The romantic entanglements and family drama were easy to relate to.

I really had a great time reading Fake It Till You Break It but if I had to pick on something it would be how a lot of the smaller issues brought up weren't more deeply discussed. They fit into the story and served it well but I felt they could've given the book more depth if they were better explored.

Mia and Jake were likable characters who were pretty mature for their age. Although they could get quite emotional, both teens were respectful to one another throughout their "relationship". Any sort of hesitations or lashing out they did, they had reasons for. I loved seeing their feelings change and grow.

If you're looking for a clean and quick romance to read then look no further. Fake It Till You Break It will have you swooning in no time!

  2. I really enjoyed this one too, and the moms were fabulous. I loved Mia and Jake and all their history, but I was really touched by how Mia's mom and Jake's mom's friendship formed, and the ending gave me all the feels.
