Goodreads Summary:
From USA Today bestselling author L.J. Shen comes a witty romance about a woman desperate to marry into money…and her fake marriage to a (real) billionaire reluctant to commit even to a zip code. Riggs Bates may be a billionaire, but he knows money can’t buy happiness. He keeps his financial status a secret and takes his women the same way he takes his meals―a different one three times a day. That’s until he’s caught sleeping with a married newswoman by none other than her ambitious assistant. Daphne “Duffy” Markham wants two things in marry well and stay in the States. So when her almost-fiancĂ© takes off to “find himself” and her work visa approaches expiration, Duffy resorts to the only thing she has left―blackmail. Luckily, Riggs needs an excuse to stay in New York as badly as she does, so their first meeting quickly leads to a begrudging engagement. Armed with strict house rules and their mutual distaste for one another, Riggs and Duffy soon find there’s no denying the spark between them…or the fact that this fake marriage is starting to feel a little too real.

Review

I liked the sound of Cold Hearted Casanova so despite not having read the previous two books in the series, I picked up this third one. And the story was the fun time I expected~

Plenty of banter with a side of commitment issue made up Cold Hearted Casanova. It took me some time to warm up to the language and the characters but once that happened, I had a good time. The supporting characters (from the previous books) were a riot with their know-it-all antics.

Duffy and Riggs made an unlikely pair given their completely opposite stance on commitment. Yet they were good for each other. Not to mention so hilarious together. I especially had a hard time keeping my laughter in during their accidental AND non-accidental nude scenes ;) Duffy's big heart coupled with Riggs's no-nonsense attitude had me cheering for them.

Although I thought it was way too coincidental for Duffy's friend/next-door neighbour to just happen to be Riggs's biological father, it made for a touching storyline. A tad dramatic but well-incorporated. I was all for Riggs working out his issues and not letting Duffy go. Her ex can go suck it :P

Cold Hearted Casanova was a pleasurable read. Romance readers who like quirky characters that dole out banter like no others will enjoy this story~

3.5 Cats
