TTT #25: 2014 Release I Meant to Read but Didn't Get to

Top Ten Tuesday button

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish where people share their top ten things according to the topic of that week.

I've seriously got tons... Besides not having enough time, I have no excuse for not reading them. Here are ten off the top of my head in no particular order :)

Landline by Rainbow RowellMaybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
Rites of Passage by Joy N. HensleyBlack Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick
Athena's Ashes by Jamie GreyOpposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Snow Like Ashes by Sara RaaschThe Young Elites by Marie Lu
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. MaasThe Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski

1. Landline - This sounds different so I really want to read it soon.
2. Maybe Someday - Loved Ugly Love so more Colleen Hoover is a must.
3. Rites of Passage - Seen so many people rave about this one, I want to try it!
4. Black Ice - Hesitant on this one because of mixed reviews but kind of want to find out for myself.
5. Athena's AshesLoved The Star Thief so need to get on this!
6. Opposition - Definitely need to finish this series.
7. Snow Like Ashes - I don't even own this one but I needz it!
8. The Young Elites - Heard it's got a big cliffhanger but still really want to pick it up.
9. Heir of Fire - It's a huge book, I need time....but I'm excited to start soon!
10. The Winner's Curse - People have been loving this one so I want to try it!

What are some of the books you didn't get to in 2014?

  1. So many great books and just not enough hours in the day! I have some of these (or their sequels) in my list as well. It is hard to decide sometimes what to read and what to put off for just a bit longer.

    1. I know right? Why do we have to make such hard decisions? I just want to read them all!

  3. The Young Elites is on my list, too. I really enjoyed Snow Like Ashes and Black Ice is a great read for winter time. I wasn't all that impressed with The Winner's Curse though. I hope you get to read these soon!

    1. Lol I'll need to learn to juggle reading four books at the same time but I think it's doable ;) I actually just finished Landline and really enjoyed it!!

  7. Snow Like Ashes also made my list this week too Eileen! I'm really eager to get to it, what I've heard so far is mostly positive feedback. I'm also looking forward to The Winner's Curse and The Young Elites. I actually purchased the two during a recent book haul and now I just have to find the time to get to them! Enjoy your reads:D

  8. I get so giddy when I see books I've listed on other blogs, though this was not a pleasing post ha ha! I do hope you get to read Landline, I actually quite enjoyed it! I seriously can't wait to read Snow Like Ashes though!

    1. I read it! I actually scheduled this post early but I was able to finish Landline two days ago. Loved it! So glad I got to it :D

  9. Landline is so good! I read it around Christmas which, I think, made it that much better.

    1. I actually finished it recently and really enjoyed it! Time to plan a reread during this Christmas ;)

  10. Heir of Fire!! Ooh, definitely try and read it soon, it's so worth it. It was a teeny tiny bit slower paced that CoM (or, maybe that's just 'cause it's bigger.... not sure!) but it's just as good!

It's so hard to keep up with the new releases, isn't it!! I'd love to have the time (and the money!) to fly through dozens of them, but *sigh* not gonna happen any time soon, unfortunately! So many books you've included I really want to read, too. I was thinking of including The Young Elites on my list this week, but Talon won out instead =) And Rites of Passage... I've seen lots of praise for that one, I'm so curious about it. Hope you love them all when you get the chance to read them!

    1. YES I NEED TO FIND TIME TO READ HOF. Ok enough with the caps, point made lol.

I totally agree with you. I want to read every book that's released but it's unrealistic because simply put, no time no money! I bet some of these will make my list list again next year lol. Then again, I'll probably have a bunch of new unread 2015 releases aiyaya.....

  13. Great picks! Opposition was a nice and fitting conclusion to the Lux series but some parts were for me a bit cheesy (more than usual) LOL. Snow Like Ashes though was one of my favourite books last year! So so so good! I was scared because I was highly anticipating it but it didn't disappoint me one bit. I can't wait for book 2!

    1. Lol I definitely know what you mean by cheesy! I felt a bit of that when I was reading the third book. Snow Like Ashes! Ice Like Fire!! You know what I mean ;)

  16. Great list! Of these I've only read two - Opposition and The Winner's Curse. Definitely recommend both! Though I don't think I'll be reading The Winner's Crime until book 3 is released - too many angsty feels!
I hope you are able to get to all of these this year. :)

    1. I'm with you there! Probably won't be starting The Winner's Curse until Crime and Kiss are out. Then I'll be prepared for all the angst ;)

  17. Landline is on my list too. I read Rites of Passage. I wanted to read The Young Elites, The Winner's Curse and Heir of Fire, but I haven't read the previous two. :( Rites of Passage was really good too and I see you've now read Landline, glad you liked it.

  18. Definitely read Rites of Passage ASAP! Loved that book so very much. I liked The Winner's Curse and Snow Like Ashes a lot too, and The Young Elites was decent. I am with you about Black Ice- I have it too, but have read VERY mixed things! Hope you get a chance to read these soon :)
