Review
The Matchmaker's Playbook came recommended from a friend and I'm really happy to say I enjoyed it. It was a fairly quick read with minimal angst and drama. There was also a fair amount of arrogance but it was all in good fun.
I'm a sucker for the bad boy falling for the good girl trope and I liked it in The Matchmaker's Playbook. To some degree the story was cheesy but it was satisfying to see a playboy brought down on his knees ;) The commentaries and reactions from the side characters added even more fun to the book.
Ian Hunter is the whole package and he knows it. He shows it in his cockiness. Only he's met his match when one Blake Olson drops into his world. She's sloppy and not at all his usual type yet she elicits feelings he's never had before. Their time together was playful and steamy. In spite of some misunderstanding and confusions, they were good together.
I'm certain anyone's who's read this book will be dying for Gabi and Lux's story next. Lucky me, I have it on hand and can jump right in! I'm pumped just imagining the kind of s**t storm these two can stir up ;)
*I received a finished copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinion are my own and not affected in any way.
