Goodreads Summary:
Fans of Susan Dennard's New York Times bestselling Witchlands series have fallen in love with the Bloodwitch Aeduan. And now, finally, comes his story.

High in a snowy mountain range, a monastery that holds more than just faith clings to the side of a cliff. Below, thwarted by a lake, a bloodthirsty horde of raiders await the coming of winter and the frozen path to destroy the sanctuary and its secrets.

The Bloodwitch Aeduan has teamed up with the Threadwitch Iseult and the magical girl Owl to stop the destruction. But to do so, he must confront his own father, and his past.

Review

For fans of The Witchlands books, this third installment will blow you away. It was everything I'd been waiting for since reading Truthwitch! Bloodwitch was action-packed with all the feels.

There's so much I could say about Bloodwitch but a lot of it goes back to the previous books so I'll keep it simple to avoid spoilers. Political debates, epic battles, long-awaited reunions, magical showdowns and painful separations are just a few things you can expect from Bloodwitch. Every moment of this book was shrouded in tension. I was constantly praying for everyone's safety. Their character growths (especially Aeduan's) were truly satisfying to witness.

Susan Dennard utilizes multiple POVs to its full potential with this series. I loved seeing through the different sets of eyes! Although sometimes when the wait for my favourite characters' POVs took longer to reach I grew a tad impatient. This is more of a personal preference than a real flaw to the story. You couldn't pry me away from the book when it was Aeduan and Iseult's chapters ;)

So Sightwitch is not considered an official novel in The Witchlands series but I highly recommend picking it up before reading Bloodwitch. There are vital information you will want to have that can only be obtained from the novella. It will help you understand the world, its history and myths so much better.

It's impossible not to be excited for the next book! It's hard to say where the story will go but the bigger picture is beginning to slowly come together in Bloodwitch. I am honestly very curious how many books are left. Whether it's one more or three more, I won't stop waiting for more!
