Goodreads Summary:
Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik narrowly escaped with their lives from the attacks on Heimdall station and now find themselves crammed with 2,000 refugees on the container ship, Mao. With the jump station destroyed and their resources scarce, the only option is to return to Kerenza—but who knows what they'll find seven months after the invasion?

Meanwhile, Kady's cousin, Asha, survived the initial BeiTech assault and has joined Kerenza's ragtag underground resistance. When Rhys—an old flame from Asha's past—reappears on Kerenza, the two find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict.

With time running out, a final battle will be waged on land and in space, heroes will fall, and hearts will be broken.

Review

Wrapping up with Obsidio, The Illuminae Files is brilliant beyond all words. The story is a thrilling ride from start to finish. I'm so glad I binge-read this series!

What I Liked:
- how the story from Illuminae and Gemina came together
- the quality writing (humorous and sarcastic but serious when need be)
- too many epic moments to count, especially in the last half of the book
- the parallel timelines
- multiple romances (I shipped them all!)
- all the emotions!!

- the philosophical nature of AIDAN (makes you think)
- the hilarious commentary in the video surveillance footages (and the realization of who the commenters were across all three books)
- name drops of other authors were fun to spot

The Not So Much:
- the false leads were somewhat predictable and obvious (I knew in my guts that Ezra and Nik wouldn't have died in the final fight)

- conveniently all the main characters survived
- the ending was nice but I sort of expected more

The Illuminae Files is one of the best sci-fi series I've read. Unique and fast-paced, it is highly addictive and not to be missed!

4.5 Cats
