Review

It's hard to believe we're at the end of the Vortex Chronicles. It feels like just yesterday I was cracking open the first page of Vortex Visions. Now with great satisfaction I close up the final page of Crystal Caged.

I had all my fingers and toes crossed for Vi and her mission in Crystal Caged. Her path was full of obstacles and curve balls but she hurdled and destroyed each one with  determination and precision. I rooted hard for her to succeed and most definitely survive.

One character I grew very fond of was Deneya, Vi's constant companion through Crystal Caged. Her loyalty and bravery were essential to the development of the story. Vi couldn't have accomplished her goals without Deneya's help. They seem a bit of an odd pair but their friendship worked.

I cannot finish this review without applauding Elise. The intricacy she weaved into two separate stories for them to come together was masterful. Utterly brilliant. I have vague recollections of the crossover scenes from the Air Awakens books but I know I need to reread them all to fully appreciate the big picture. Truly amazing.

Crystal Caged was the perfect ending to the Vortex Chronicles story arc and to the Air Awakens universe. Though I certainly wouldn't mind if Elise ever decides to gives us more again ;) Call me a forever fan!
