August 20, 2024
Goodreads Summary:
#1 New York Times bestselling author Adalyn Grace delivers a sensational conclusion to the deathly and decadent Belladonna trilogy, with dramatic twists and a seductive new romance that will set readers' hearts ablaze.
Blythe Hawthorne has never let anyone tell her what to do—not society, not her overprotective father, and certainly not the man she’s bound herself to, no matter how rude and insufferable he is. In fact, she’s determined to be a thorn in his side for the rest of her days, even as he ensures that her life in his palace is anything but a fairytale. But as Blythe discovers a new side of herself linked to his past, she’ll have to decide if she’s willing to let an unexpected spark ignite…and to discover the truth about who she really is.
Review
Without a doubt, Wisteria has been my most anticipated sequel this year! I love these characters and their very strange yet fascinating lives. The hate-to-love romance that unfurled was oh so delicious~
What I Liked:
- the atmospheric writing
- all the symbolisms
- well-paced
- each reveal had time to marinate and shock
- Blythe was a force with her unafraid attitude
- the heat between Blythe and Aris, wow!
- amazing romantic tension
- Aris's devotion to his one true love
- Signa and Death- seeing them protect and help Blythe
- an answer to the mystery of Signa's mom's death
- the ending was perfect
The Not So Much:
- Blythe and Aris's change of feelings towards each other felt a tad abrupt (just a tad!)
"It was a place where time meant nothing and a person could become forever lost." (p. 274)
"How difficult it was to watch the most talented people allow fear to stop them from becoming all that they could be." (p. 311)
