Review

Having loved Tricia Levenseller's debut duology my expectations for her books were high. The Shadows Between Us did not disappoint! It exceeded my expectations and has become one of my all-time favourite books.

The Shadows Between Us was engaging plot-wise. It was hard to know where the story was going but the fast pace and addictive writing kept me hooked. I was rewarded with the most delicious of romance and quick unfolding of events. I should have seen it coming but the small mystery component managed to surprise me. All I will say is that its resolution was quite fitting and satisfying.

Alessandra was cunning, fierce, independent and quick-witted. Even though she was the very definition of morally grey I adored her. She was not afraid to aim high and go for what she wanted (eg. The Shadow King).

Ambitious, handsome and powerful, the Shadow King intrigued me the most. His ability and its secrets were very unique but it was his persistence and stamina that stood out in The Shadows Between Us :P

I could not get enough of the romance! What a perfect torturous slow burn! The push and pull between Alessandra and the Shadow King was super yummy. The two had intelligent conversations but also exchanged playful words with plenty of hidden meanings. It was hard not to spontaneously combust from the heat they were giving off. The simmering sexual tension was hot hot hot!

The Shadows Between Us was amazing. It's everything its synopsis promises. I'm officially obsessed with Tricia Levenseller and her stories!
