Goodreads Summary:
The captivating sequel to the Gothic-infused Belladonna, in which Signa and Death face a supernatural foe determined to tear them apart.

A duke has been murdered. The lord of Thorn Grove has been framed. And Fate, the elusive brother of Death, has taken up residence in a sumptuous estate nearby. He's hellbent on revenge after Death took the life of the woman he loved many years ago...and now he's determined to have Signa for himself, no matter the cost.

Signa and her cousin Blythe are certain that Fate can save Elijah Hawthorne from prison if they will entertain his presence. But the more time the girls spend with Fate, the more frightening their reality becomes as Signa exhibits dramatic new powers that link her to Fate's past. With mysteries and danger around every corner, the cousins must decide if they can trust one another as they navigate their futures in high society, unravel the murders that haunt their family, and play Fate's unexpected games--all with their destinies hanging in the balance.

Dangerous, suspenseful, and seductive, this sequel to the story of Signa and Death is as utterly romantic as it is perfectly deadly.

Review

Foxglove caught me by surprise- I was not prepared for how much I'd love it. I liked Belladonna but Foxglove really hit it out of the park for me! I'm still thinking about the characters...

Fiercely loyal and strongly determined, Signa and Blythe did everything in their power to protect their loved ones. Fate played a dangerous game with them but both girls played bravely. Difficult choices were made; irreversible bargains struck. I greatly admired both Signa and Blythe.

Foxglove was full of twists and turns. I guessed the identity twist early on but it was still satisfying to see my suspicions confirmed. So fun following the trail the clever writing left. The second twist was entirely unexpected but brilliant. Blythe's love for her cousin was more than apparent with the sacrifice she made. In an effort to stay vague, I will just say I'm so pleased with the turn of events. The ensuing resentment (between Blythe and Fate) promises a chaotically good time.

I didn't love the love triangle aspect of Foxglove but I'm also thankful it wasn't exactly a true love triangle. While Fate's love story sounded epic, it couldn't come between everything Signa and Death shared. I felt the strong connection between them. The stolen moments and their longing to truly be together tugged at my heart. Can we give them a break?

Delightfully delicious, Foxglove was quite the romantic story. The characters have really grown on me and I must know how they'll fare. Wisteria can't release fast enough!

4.5 Cats
