Goodreads Summary:
After breaking up with her bad-news boyfriend, Reagan O’Neill is ready to leave her rebellious ways behind. . . and her best friend, country superstar Lilah Montgomery, is nursing a broken heart of her own. Fortunately, Lilah’s 24-city tour is about to kick off, offering a perfect opportunity for a girls-only summer of break-up ballads and healing hearts. But when Matt Finch joins the tour as its opening act, his boy-next-door charm proves difficult for Reagan to resist, despite her vow to live a drama-free existence. This summer, Reagan and Lilah will navigate the ups and downs of fame and friendship as they come to see that giving your heart to the right person is always a risk worth taking. A fresh new voice in contemporary romance, Emery Lord’s gorgeous writing hits all the right notes.

Review

I enjoyed this book very much! It dealt with realistic issues but still managed to be cute and fun. I liked that each character struggled with something in their life. I loved it even more because they managed to come to terms with their issues. There's also a friendship anybody would be envious of :)

I love Reagan! She has character. She wasn't afraid to admit her faults and tried hard to get her life back on the right path. She seemed to be able to feel Matt's pain over losing his mom which I found heartwarming. Sometimes, she can be a little too headstrong for me. Like when she walked away from Matt. If she'd slowed down and let him explain, she wouldn't have had to feel the heartache.

Matt's all around lovable. Who doesn't love a guy that writes songs for you and sings for you? It's sweet when he told Reagan she "woke" him up. He's definitely a keeper.

Then there's Dee. Nobody's perfect, we all have our flaws but we don't let it ruin us. Dee's the perfect example. She may be a glamorous superstar but she's still just an ordinary girl who has to deal with teenage drama too. She fights the rumours to live her dream and keep Jimmy in her life which I admire very much.

Reagan and Dee's friendship is wonderful. They are always there for each other no matter what. I love that they are never too proud to apologize to each other after a fight!

Nothing in this book is too heavy and it's just the perfect read if you're looking for something cute. With relatable characters and a fun storyline, I wish the book could go on. Why did Dee's tour have to end?!?! I need more of this cuteness!!

  2. I'm so glad you liked this one. I read it where there was so much hype and I think it clouded my judgement a little bit. I liked it but for me it wasn't as stellar as everyone made it out to be. That's the problem with hype. I wish I had waited a little bit and read it around now. Great review!
