Stacking the Shelves button

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews that lets us share what we've added to our shelves.

I snatched this one up when BookOutlet had their $5 off with no minimum purchase coupon~ I already read it as an ebook and loved it so I had to get a physical copy. I also want to mention that it was in perfect condition. Seriously just perfect! So happy~

Ripple with Fire
Fire by Kristin Cashore

The lovely people at Raincoast Books and Macmillan sent me an ecopy of this book. It took me a few tries to get it working but they have been very patient and understanding so thank you~ I'm especially excited to read it because it's about twins! I have a twin and I want to see how their relationship is portrayed in the book.

Feature & Follow #29: Physical Books or e-Books?

Feature & Follow button

Feature & Follow is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read where each host will have their own Feature blog to show off more new blogs!

Such a difficult question! I love my Kindle because it was the whole reason I got back into reading about three years ago. It's easy to use and light to carry around. Just so convenient I never go anywhere without it! I also really love hardcover books. They're so pretty and there's just something so magical about holding a physical copy in your hands. I really couldn't decide so I asked Ripple to help me choose.

Thinking Ripple
He's debating which one to
pick for me.

Ripple can't decide
Now he's sniffing because
he can't decide either.
Oops, I guess we love both ;)

Do you like physical books or ebooks and thank you for coming by!

Cover Reveal: Nowhere But Here (Thunder Road #1) by Katie McGarry

Today I'm excited to participate in the cover reveal for Katie McGarry's new book called Nowhere But Here! It is the first book to her new YA series, Thunder Road. This reveal is different because all participating blogs have been divided into sections and given a piece of the cover to reveal at different times. So you won't see the whole thing until later today but it sounds fun right?! Here's some information on the book ;)

Nowhere But Here
(Thunder Road #1)
by Katie McGarry
May 26, 2015
400 pages

Goodreads Summary:
An unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible.

Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she's curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.

Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member—is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.

No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

Finally, here's my puzzle piece :D

Goodreads Summary:
Never agree to a road trip to New Orleans with your roommate. At least not when your roommate is dragging you along while she reconnects with an ex-boyfriend. Possible consequences of failing to take my advice:

1) Unknowingly going out with a vampire stripper
2) Getting kidnapped by said vampire's nest mates
3) Falling head over heels for your winged hero

Believe it or not number 3 is the worst one, especially when no one believes you that he exists.

WoW #30: Vendetta (Blood for Blood #1) by Catherine Doyle

Waiting on Wednesday button

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted every week by Breaking the Spine which lets us showcase an upcoming release we are excited about!

Vendetta by Catherine DoyleVendetta
(Blood for Blood #1)
by Catherine Doyle
February 24, 2015
352 pages

Goodreads Summary:
Blood Will Spill, Hearts Will Break: With a fierce rivalry raging between two warring families, falling in love is the deadliest thing Sophie could do. An epic debut set outside modern-day Chicago.

For Sophie, it feels like another slow, hot summer in Cedar Hill, waitressing at her family’s diner and hanging out with her best friend Millie. But then someone moves into the long-abandoned mansion up the block--a family of five Italian brothers, each one hotter than the last. Unable to resist caramel-eyed Nicoli, Sophie finds herself falling for him -- and willfully ignoring the warning signs. Why are Nic's knuckles cut and bruised? Why does he carry an engraved switchblade? And why does his arrogant and infuriating older brother, Luca, refuse to let her see him? As the boys' dark secrets begin to come to light, Sophie is confronted with stinging truths about her own family, too. Suddenly, she's torn between two warring dynasties: the one she’s related to and the one she's now in love with. She'll have to choose between loyalty and passione. When she does, blood will spill, hearts will break. Because in this twisted underworld, dishonor can be the difference between life and death.

This sounds like a great rivalry love story! I love the layout of the cover - the vintage look of the pictures and the way the heart is set in the middle with cracks in the background.

Tabby Talk: Reading Time

Tabby Talk Banner

Tabby Talk is a discussion post I thought I'd do occasionally where I'll share my random thoughts on something and include my cat in them ;)

Today, I want to ask everyone a simple question. When do you read? More specifically, when do you find the time to read? A lot of bloggers I know are either students or moms. The students need to go to class, do homework and study, to name a few things and the moms have kid(s) to take care of so.....when do you have time to sit down and just read without interruptions? I have this little one bugging me for attention when I get home. Not that I'm complaining ;)

Ripple wants to play

Lately, I've been feeling like I don't have time to read at all. I work a full time job (like a lot of you do I'm sure), eight hours a day (not including the commute of 40mins each way) five days a week, I'm exhausted by the time I get home. Sometimes I don't even feel like doing anything! Normally I go through my routine (shower, eat, chores, etc.) and by the time I'm done with everything, it's almost bed time. Add in the time I need to write reviews, schedule posts, visit and comment on other blogs, where has my reading time gone?!?!?

Ironically, the one place I used to get steady reading time from was at work. I spend my one hour of lunch break reading. Sometimes if work isn't too busy, I can squeeze in even more reading time. Now, because I'm taking on more tasks at work, even that reading time's shrinking. It's depressing for me just to think about how little I've been reading :(

I'm curious how other bloggers manage their time. Please share your thoughts with me!
