Goodreads Summary:
Breaking up with her boyfriend is not how Veda planned on starting her summer. When Mark makes it clear that it’s over between them, Veda is heartbroken and humiliated—but, more importantly, she’s inspired. And so she sets out on the love quest of a lifetime: use the summer to forget about Mark, move on, and move up. All she has to do is kiss twenty-six boys with twenty-six different names—one for each letter of the alphabet.
From the top of the Ferris wheel at her hometown carnival to the sandy dunes of Lake Michigan, Veda takes every opportunity she can to add kisses (and boys) to her list, and soon the breakup doesn’t sting quite as much. But just when Veda thinks she has the whole kissing thing figured out, she meets someone who turns her world upside down.
By turns hilarious and heartbreaking, Anna Michels’s debut is the story of one girl who realizes that moving on from the supposed love of your life means taking a chance—and having the courage to love again.

Interview
1. You've probably already answered this before but how did you come up with the idea for your story?
The story was actually a collaboration and was based on a friend’s true story! She wasn’t doing the challenge in one summer, though, but over her lifetime ;)
2. Why kisses? Did you consider anything else?
Nope! It was always kisses. It seemed like the perfect summer romance story.
3. I'm curious, how did you come up with the 26 guys' names?
I tried to strike a balance between names that weren’t too weird but ones that you would remember. I used a baby names website and just picked names that I liked.
4. Are any of those names special to you? Based on someone you know?
Only one person in the book is named after someone I know--Walter, in a shoutout to my grandpa.
5. Did you always know how to end 26 Kisses or did it come to you as you wrote?
I definitely did not know how I was going to end the book--it was a big surprise to me when I got there!
6. What would you like readers to take away from your book?
First, I hope that readers just have fun while reading 26 KISSES. It’s a great book for summer vacation and just hanging out and enjoying a story. I also hope readers get a little bit inspired by Veda, to do whatever it is they may have been thinking about but haven’t yet had the courage to do.
Thank you so much for being on the blog today! 26 Kisses sounds like the perfect summery romance read ;)
