Goodreads Summary:
He’s been a bad, bad rake—and it takes a governess to teach him a lesson
The accidental governess.
After her livelihood slips through her fingers, Alexandra Mountbatten takes on an impossible post: transforming a pair of wild orphans into proper young ladies. However, the girls don’t need discipline. They need a loving home. Try telling that to their guardian, Chase Reynaud: duke’s heir in the streets and devil in the sheets. The ladies of London have tried—and failed—to make him settle down. Somehow, Alexandra must reach his heart... without risking her own.
The infamous rake.
Like any self-respecting libertine, Chase lives by one rule: no attachments. When a stubborn little governess tries to reform him, he decides to give her an education—in pleasure. That should prove he can’t be tamed. But Alexandra is more than he bargained for: clever, perceptive, passionate. She refuses to see him as a lost cause. Soon the walls around Chase’s heart are crumbling... and he’s in danger of falling, hard.

Review
The Girl Meets Duke series is so addictive! I loved The Duchess Deal and couldn't wait for the next book. Full of steam, wit and a bit of drama The Governess Game did not let me down!
Ms. Alexandra Mountbatten is a riot with her daydreams about the mystery bookstore guy/Chase. She fantasies and chastises herself all at the same time. It was hilarious and so endearing. Alex is also the rare type of heroine that doesn't get intimidated easily. I love how candid she was with her opinions and feelings. Whenever Chase was being negative, she lets him know what she thought.
Chase was way too melodramatic about his past. I get that he's tortured by the mistake he made but I so badly wanted to slap some sense into him too. He should appreciate what he has in the present and stop pushing what's good (aka Alex) away. Their sex scenes were raw and honest. I was surprised to learn of Chase's sexual restraint so it was extra satisfying to see him let go with Alex ;)
Chase's two wards were precious little things. The girls had odd interests and were somewhat difficult to manage but they were very lovable. You can't help but laugh at their mostly innocent but also super sneaky displays.
The Governess Game didn't hint at the next coupling so I'm officially dying of curiosity. It's going to be a long wait till the next book comes out but given how much I enjoyed this sequel I have no doubt this will be a worthwhile wait!!
