Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass #1)
by Sarah J. Maas
August 7, 2012
404 pages
Goodreads Summary:
After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin. Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.
Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she's bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it's the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.
Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another.
Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

Review
This was a book that I just could not put down!! SO SO SO SO SOOOO GOOD!!! I read the novellas before starting the series so I had a vague idea of the characters and the world but what I read totally surpassed my expectations!
I didn't think an assassin could be so girly and cocky but Celaena totally nails it! I knew that her and Dorian wouldn't work out because let's be realistic, he's the Crown Prince. There seemed to be too many obstacles waiting for them and too many pairs of eyes watching them. Chaol, on the other hand, may be stubborn and values his position but I know he will cave to Celaena's "charms" sooner than later hehehe. I can't wait to see more of them together!!! They have so much chemistry! I can't wait for their relationship to develop and the romance to slowly come alive!
The storyline is so neat and has so much potential! I can only see it getting better and more exciting by the book!!
This is a book for everyone because it will blow your mind away (in a good way). You won't regret having this series in your life!!
I have this book sitting next to my computer waiting for me to read it. I hope I get to read it before I move because I've been holding onto it for so long!
