Goodreads Summary:
The only thing worse than being a witch is living with one.

Camellia’s adopted mother wants Cam to grow up to be just like her. Problem is, Mom’s a seriously wicked witch.

Cam’s used to stopping the witch’s crazy schemes for world domination. But when the witch summons a demon, he gets loose—and into Devon, the cute new boy at school.

Now Cam’s suddenly got bigger problems than passing Algebra. Her friends are getting zombiefied. Their dragon is tired of hiding in the RV garage. For being a shy boy-band boy, Devon is sure kissing a bunch of girls. And a phoenix hidden in the school is going to explode on the night of the Halloween Dance.

To stop the demon before he destroys Devon’s soul, Cam might have to try a spell of her own. But if she’s willing to work spells like the witch...will that mean she’s wicked too?

Review

Like the cover of this book suggests, Seriously Wicked was colourful and fun. The synopsis really summarises the story perfectly. The modernized take on magic was fantastic. I was thoroughly entertained!

Cam is your typical teenager with one big exception: she lives with a witch named Sarmine. Sarmine is training Cam to become a witch but there's just one teensy problem with that - Cam doesn't want to be a witch at all. She does everything in her power to sabotage the witch's plans but when one summoning goes wrong and gets Devon, the new boy in trouble, Cam has to race against time to save his soul.

We hear a lot of the story from Cam's thoughts and I liked that. It made things interesting and more personal. She came off a little bit whiny but it was all for good humour. The puppy love between her and Devon was simply adorable. The fact that there was a demon inside him increased his appeal with thrills. It made him more charming with a dash of danger.

Dragons, demons, pixies, and girl who sees aura are only a few of the things you can look forward to finding in Seriously Wicked. They were all sorts of fun. Some of the things that happened  like the human pentagram, really gave me a good laugh. Seeing it in action was hilarious. Such a simple solution yet one that you would not normally think of~

The things that we find out near the end of the story were unexpected and insane but it all made sense. The ending was sweet, sweet and sweet! What Cam ends up doing with the phoenix's power really had me smiling. She has the potential to do so much good.

I believe this is currently a standalone but I definitely wouldn't mind if it becomes a series. More of this magic and fun is most welcome! Maybe a Seriously Witchy?
