Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews that lets us share what we've added to our shelves.
The HCCFrenzy team was in Vancouver last week and they hosted a blogger brunch event where everyone got a huge bag of books and swag. When I say huge I mean HUGE! Everyone got at least five books in their totes and whatever left over were divvied up between the bloggers since Frenzy couldn't take them back in their carry-on bags. I won an extra two books from playing a fun game. And obviously Pickles couldn't wait to get acquainted with everything lol XD Many many thanks to the Frenzy team! It was the best getting to meet them <3
What did you add to your shelves this week?
A Lot of Beautiful Books. I hope you love all of them.

It was amazing, I feel so blessed! Thanks Joann!
DeleteOh, I hope you read The Black Witch! It got dragged on Goodreads for being racist by people who didn't even read it. It had over a thousand one and two star ratings before it was even published. Some people took theirs down after it was pointed out that the racist quotes the leader of the Twitter mob tweeted were given out of context, and it was an Umbridge type character who spoke them, not the MC, but there are still 700+ left on there. The book is actually anti-racisim.
ReplyDeleteOne of the people who lead the Twitter mob has since written a book herself and she got called out for insensitivity to Native American history. She said she didn't care, and a couple of weeks ago she said that Asian authors should stop calling themselves POC authors because they aren't, and they take away promotional help from real POC authors like her. I think she needs to keep her own house tidy before she leads mobs against other authors. :/
Oh ya I've definitely seen the drama around. It's got me a little hesitant about The Black Witch but it's definitely still on my TBR for myself to determine :)
DeleteI know who you're talking about and I've noticed people have been calling her out since she's gotten a bit out of hand. Hopefully this all stops. It's not doing anybody any good...
