Feature & Follow #38: Book Love or Hate?

Feature & Follow button

Hmmm... a book or books I thought I'd hate but loved or vice versa. This was a tricky question and I had to take a look at my read shelf to remember but I found the perfect example!!

Pivot Point by Kasie WestSplit Second by Kasie West

The Pivot Point duology was something I wasn't planning on reading because I wasn't sure how I felt about alternate universes. I had previously read a contemporary where there were two alternate realities and I ended up confused a lot throughout that book. I was very hesitant to pick up another book about alternate universes but I'm SO glad I did! Pivot Point and Split Second are perfections!! The story and the characters are amazing and so well done!! If you haven't read this duology yet, I highly recommend trying Pivot Point!

How about you? Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Following you on GFC now. I haven't read either of these but I'm a major sucker for pretty covers. Yeah, I'm one of those crazy people that judge all books by their covers, so I'm going to check these out on Goodreads rightaway!

  4. OOoh that's awesome! I am curious with the alternate realities or stuff similar to it! Doppellgangers scare the heck out of me though! No idea why! LOL! Guess that fear that your friends and family and loved ones all believe the doppelganger is you and then they are usually evil and plan to make life hell for you and try to kill you off so they can be you!

Yeah...I read scary books sometimes! LOL!

    1. Lol that does sound really scary but Pivot Point is not quite like that! It's seriously really good if you are into the alternate universe stories. Even if you haven't tried an alternate reality story you should definitely try this one and see :D

  5. Great! Pivot Point has been on my TBR/Wish list for quite some time. Perhaps I should move it up higher on my list.

For me, I went into The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa thinking I wasn't going to like it. My brother had just gotten engaged and she only read one book and it was the first of this series. She said Faeries and I rolled my eyes so hard. I gave it a try to try to get to know her better, start a soon-to-be-sister book club type thing, etc. Oh my word, I loved it so much!

That's so sweet of you! I tried The Iron Fey series because I haven't read any Faeries books yet and I found myself really loving the books! Although I did get a teeny tiny bit bored around the fourth book and never continue onto the spinoff :S

  6. I haven't read that series but I have heard good things. I may have to check it out now, I love alternate dimensions.

I didn't do a FFF but if I had I would have said A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. I really thought I would love that book but I hated it. It's actually what inspired me to blog again so I guess it wasn't all bad.
