The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West
The Fill-In Boyfriend
by Kasie West
May 5, 2015
352 pages

Goodreads Summary:
When Gia Montgomery's boyfriend, Bradley, dumps her in the parking lot of her high school prom, she has to think fast. After all, she'd been telling her friends about him for months now. This was supposed to be the night she proved he existed. So when she sees a cute guy waiting to pick up his sister, she enlists his help. The task is simple: be her fill-in boyfriend— two hours, zero commitment, a few white lies. After that, she can win back the real Bradley.

The problem is that days after prom, it's not the real Bradley she's thinking about, but the stand-in. The one whose name she doesn't even know. But tracking him down doesn't mean they're done faking a relationship. Gia owes him a favor and his sister intends to see that he collects: his ex-girlfriend's graduation party — three hours, zero commitment, a few white lies.

Just when Gia begins to wonder if she could turn her fake boyfriend into a real one, Bradley comes waltzing back into her life, exposing her lie, and threatening to destroy her friendships and her new-found relationship.

Goodreads Summary:
There's bound to be trouble in Paradise . . .

When her parents decide a change will be good for her, seventeen-year-old Lexie Atkinson never expected they'd send her all the way to Paradise City. Coming from a predictable life of home schooling on a rural Australian property, she's sure that Paradise will be amazing. But when she's thrust into a public school without a friendly face in sight, and forced to share a room with her insipid, hateful cousin Amanda, Lexie's not so sure.

Hanging out with the self-proclaimed beach bums of the city, sneaking out, late night parties and parking with boys are all things Lexie's never experienced, but all that's about to change. It's new, terrifying . . . and exciting. But when she meets Luke Ballantine, exciting doesn't even come close to describing her new life. Trouble with a capital T, Luke is impulsive, charming and answers to no one. The resident bad-boy leader of the group, he's sexier than any boy Lexie has ever known.

Amidst the stolen moments of knowing looks and heated touches, Lexie can't help but wonder if Luke is going to be good for her . . . or very, very bad?

Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry
Nowhere But Here
(Thunder Road #1)
by Katie McGarry
May 26, 2015
400 pages

Goodreads Summary:
An unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible.

Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she's curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.

Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member—is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.

No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

Tabby Talk: Taking Notes~

Tabby Talk is a discussion post I thought I'd do occasionally where I'll share my random thoughts on something and include my cat in them ;)

Today I'm curious how everyone track their thoughts while reading. I know a lot of people use sticky notes to mark pages with quotes and/or passages they love but do you physically take any notes? When something you read stands out, do you have to write it down or do you just remember it?

For me, usually when a thought hits, I need to immediately grab my phone and jot it down in the notepad app. If I don't, I'll end up completely forgetting it in the next five minutes. That's happened to me a couple times and every time I end up hating myself. I feel like I forgot something great (but probably not).

So do you take notes? Do you use a notebook, post-its or even multiple bookmarks? If not, how do you remember everything that happens in the book? Is there anything you have to have beside you when you're reading? Mine's that orange ball of fur in the picture below ;) I'd love it if he could help me take notes but he's normally in that position~ Anyways, I would love to hear a little about your review process!

Hmmm... a book or books I thought I'd hate but loved or vice versa. This was a tricky question and I had to take a look at my read shelf to remember but I found the perfect example!!

Pivot Point by Kasie WestSplit Second by Kasie West

The Pivot Point duology was something I wasn't planning on reading because I wasn't sure how I felt about alternate universes. I had previously read a contemporary where there were two alternate realities and I ended up confused a lot throughout that book. I was very hesitant to pick up another book about alternate universes but I'm SO glad I did! Pivot Point and Split Second are perfections!! The story and the characters are amazing and so well done!! If you haven't read this duology yet, I highly recommend trying Pivot Point!

How about you? Thanks for stopping by!
